APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2023 TECHNOVATION FOR GOOD PROGRAM WILL BE ACCEPTED: Now until full

Welcome to the admissions process for the Technovation for Good (tech4good) program! 

Admission is intended for current rising sophomores - rising seniors who have a genuine interest in pursuing a technology-related career field or wish to explore entrepreneurship or sustainability options. Potential candidates should display their competitive attributes through academic achievements, leadership potential, and community activities. Tech4good admissions committee will assist in the selection of candidates that show potential aligning with the goals of the program. The 2023 program is limited to 18 students. Limited need-based partial or full scholarships are available specifically for students from the following counties: Avery, Caldwell, Catawba, Cabarrus, Forsyth, Iredell, Mecklenberg, Watauga, and Wilkes.

Once applications are received, they are screened and reviewed. Applicants will be notified of the next steps tentatively by May 1, 2023.

Application Steps

Applying to the Technovation for Good Program involves:

  • Submitting an online application

  • Once your online application is complete, please email the following items to tech4good@appstate.edu: 

    • High school transcript, grades and GPA

    • Signed releases and signatures page

    • Optional Test scores: If you have completed the PSAT, SAT, or ACT, please ask your counselor to add these scores to the transcript you will be submitting. If your school does not provide test scores on transcripts, please forward a copy of your test report. If you have not completed any of the above tests, please indicate so on your application. 

  • Upon completion of the application, you will need to secure two evaluation forms to also be completed online; one completed by an academic reference and another by a personal reference (no family members please).

Tuition and Scholarships

This year's program has been fully funded by our sponsers Alex Lee, Inc. and Lowes companies. All attending students are being provided with a full scholarship to cover the cost of the program.

The cost for the two-week program is $2,500 (cost is subsidized due to partial funding from Alex Lee, Inc. and Lowe's Companies). Contributions from Technovation for Good fund will cover additional costs of the actual program. Program fees and funds from the grant will provide housing, instruction, meals and activities expenses. Students will be responsible for any additional incidentals or spending money.

If selected, students will be required to submit a $150 fee. This guarantees the student's spot in the program. The deposit is a non refundable administration fee. Please contact tech4good@gmail.com by June 16, 2023 should the student be unable to attend or they will be considred a no-show.
